Welcome to this select offering. Each year, we work to bring together items that represent a broad range of artistic disciplines. Collector pieces that include the Foundation's Limited Edition Print Series, The Great American Cowboy, are always popular among bidders.

Proceeds from the auction are used to help fund scholarship programs made available to students from the five-state region of North and South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming and Nebraska and who are seeking post-secondary education in agriculturally related career fields.

Once again the Black Hills Stock Show Foundation will present six scholarships during the Stockman’s Ball and Banquet to high school seniors across the state of South Dakota. We are proud to help these individuals with their dreams. The Ramkota Inn will host this event as three deserving individuals are honored by the community. The money raised during the auction held on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at the Stockman’s Banquet and Ball will help continue this program. We will auction off many beautiful and special donations that will grace any home or lodge. The discerning cowboy and cowgirl will find something to help them shine like a star!!

1. Miniature Saddle Sculpture-created and donated by local artist, Mavis Madison! This 10” bronze sculpture of a 1928 Harpham saddle is mounted on a cherry wood pedestal.
  2. Handmade Chinks donated by Travis Clark. They will be made to last for that hardworking cowboy or cowgirl!
  3. Leather Pistol Holster donated by Travis Clark & Clark Bros. Construction
  4. Crown Royal Quilt donated by Paula Warren. It’s back-the beautiful purple quilt made by the talented Mrs. Warren!
  5. Turquoise Jewelry donated by Ralph Maynard and Maynard Buckles. He always brings something beautiful as the Arizona sun!
  6. Log End Table donated by Legends and Legacies of Spearfish, SD. Sure to fit in any western home.
  7. BHSSF Commemorative Rifle Scabbard donated by Bader Saddlery of Rapid City, SD. A chance of a lifetime to own one of a kind!

  17. “Barnyard Go-Round” Bronze donated by Tony Chytka and One Horse Studio is 1 of 5 made by this talented South Dakota artist. You have to see it to believe it!
  18. Handmade Silver Mounted Spurs donated by Marty Rypkema and made by the incomparable Ed Lawrence. We wait every year to see these spurs!

  20. Handmade Breast Collar donated by Sweetwater Saddlery. Longtime supporters Bruce and Sam Leibold will bring some of the best made tack anywhere with all the bling!
21. BHSSF Commemorative Silver Bit donated by Flat Creek Saddlery of Jackson Hole, WY. The silver work on this bit must be seen to be believed! One of the best ever offered!

  23. 2010 20X Shirt with Landstrom’s Pin donated by Sutton Rodeos. The SD high school rodeo contestants will autograph the shirt and you will love the silver pin!

Great American Cowboy Series Original Oil Painting by Mick Harrison. “The Natural” depicts the great South Dakota cowboy, Casey Tibbs. The 18” X 24” painting will be one of the most desired paintings offered in the series. Through cooperation with the Casey Tibbs Foundation, Mick Harrison obtained rare photos of Casey for his inspiration. You can own a piece of South Dakota pride!
  27. Signed Print #1 “The Natural” by Mick Harrison. This is your chance to own the first print offered by the BHSS Foundation.
